Death Doula

March 22, 2024May 26, 2024 / megdedwards / Leave a comment

‘Flu

November 28, 2023December 1, 2024 / megdedwards / Leave a comment

Looking back as a an older parent, I see that it was a gift for all of us. For me to have an illness that could be cured by love and hot drinks.

The End of Openness

August 11, 2023December 28, 2023 / megdedwards / Leave a comment

I tried in the last year to write about the things that bring me joy, and that worked for a while. It was nice to feel joy and spread joy. That's the only reason I ever wrote, to connect with others, to share. I like to 'share'.

To you, my Friend

March 5, 2023March 23, 2023 / megdedwards / 1 Comment

On a personal note, I do notice that anytime I write about my experience during the pandemic I lose your interest. You turn away and turn me off. It's funny because the original idea for this blog was that it be 'painfully about me'. I joked about it at the time. Why would I do … Continue reading To you, my Friend

The Spirit of Aging is Love

November 24, 2022January 20, 2024 / megdedwards / Leave a comment

A young couple moved into our rural coastal neighborhood, and I wondered which older couple would adopt them. There is always one older couple that a younger couple depends on. This is a common relationship in our rural neighbourhood. People reach out to each other. When we are away from home, we create a new … Continue reading The Spirit of Aging is Love

Wonder

October 25, 2022January 20, 2024 / megdedwards / Leave a comment

October 2022 The small spruce and burning bush that we planted in front of my study window have become substantial and gnarled, radiating out from their original plant, allowing for dead in the middle and providing empty hollows for bird nests. Through an open patch in the branches, I can see our small crab apple … Continue reading Wonder
